When it comes to workplace relations, in order to focus on making positive strategic decisions, organizations first need to get a good understanding of any potential risk. We recently sat down with On Demand HR member Glyn Henman, CEO of Young Life Australia, to get his perspective on this.

I think that comes in a confidence piece for me around my HR issues. And so understanding the basics of the risk exposure and then helping you not just to mitigate it, but what what mitigating it does is it actually allows you to actually think forward because, you know, you’ve got your risk.

you’ve never got your totally covered off because that’s the nature of risk. Right. But but, you know, you’ve got your big issues somewhat under control and you’ve got someone there keeping an eye on and stuff with you for a bit.

Actually, allows you to clearly think forward about what’s next. Instead of worrying about is my risk going to come undone? Yeah, because I’m just not on top of it all. And I think that’s the piece that I think that On Demand HR has really helped me with this and then trying to help me think through that future thiniking stuff as well.

You know, again, Covid . That’ll be 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 sort of issues. Covid is going to be with us for a long time. But just how do we keep on top of the issues, the update stuff, all those other bits and pieces?

Oh, someone’s got it with me. If I have a question, I know where to go. Mandatory vaccination. I mean everyone’s got questions around that stuff. Someone’s on top of that. I don’t think about it. I can come and get the information, deliver that information to my staff, and then move on with what’s what we’re really

wanting to do. So so I think that’s the confidence that it brings in helping do that.
